Mrs. Williams

Hello! My name is Sarah Williams. I began teaching at Dame School, in Concord, in 2001. Teaching first grade, then second, and eventually kindergarten.  In 2012 when Dame and Eastman Schools combined to make Mill Brook Primary I began teaching here, continuing to teach kindergarten, the age and grade I love the most!   While at Dame and continuing here at Mill Brook I was fortunate to be a part of the Responsive Classroom training and implementation school wide.  Of all the professional development I have done the Responsive Classroom philosophy and components have had the greatest impacted my teaching.  While teaching kindergarten I have been able to collaborate with other kindergarten teachers to revise and develop the literacy curriculum, integrate the science and social studies curriculum, as well as create a grade level Progress Report and grading rubric.  I have led new kindergarten teachers in preparation for their first year of teaching, created a curriculum binder for them, that was eventually used district wide.  I have served on the Mathematics Review Committee for the district for 3 years reviewing, selecting, and implementing new Common Core aligned curriculum.  I have served as a mentor to new teachers and as a cooperating teacher to SNHU students.  I have been a strand leader for kindergarten teachers on many topics including assessment, Lucy Calkins Units of Study writing program, Everyday Math, and Eureka Math.  In May of 2015, nominated by my principal, I received a Distinguished Educator Award from the Concord School Board.  In my spare time you will find me at home with my supportive husband and 2 amazing children.  We love to spend time at "the lake" with my extended family, riding our bikes, being with friends, and traveling when time allows.
